Objectives:

The aim of the course is to give the participants basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to prevent a fire, make appropriate judgement when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel and ensure all are safely accounted for. If the incident is judged to be safe, the participants should be able to efficiently extinguish an initial fire using firefighting equipment.

Training outcome:

Upon completion of the course, delegates will have achieved skills and basic knowledge of:

• Fire development and spread.
• Causes of fires in wind turbines and associated risk.
• Identifying of signs of a fire in a wind turbine.
• Contingency plans in a wind turbine environment including fire detection and evacuation procedures.
• Correct actions required after discovering a fire.

Admission Requirements:

• All participating shall be medically fit.
• Valid GWO FAW certificate.
